The promotion of Lazio
“Tourism is central to the economy of our territory, which is why we are doing a great job of promoting and enhancing the Lazio destination – underlined Valentina Corrado. We have recently renewed the sector law, which governs the organization of the Lazio tourism system, providing for the establishment of a regional DMO which, thanks to the public and private partnership, will allow us to have the managerial skills to promote the Lazio destination, not only on national but also international markets. Starting from March until the end of the year, we have also relaunched the ‘more nights, more dreams, more experience’ initiative which includes the gift of one or two additional nights for tourists, depending on the stay, as well as a series of experiences that will be discounted. It is an important measure that has the function on the one hand of helping operators in the sector and on the other of encouraging the knowledge of those places that embrace Rome, less known destinations, thus extending the stay of travelers on our territory and increasing flows. And above all by seasonally adjusting, with the measure active all year round ”.
The Lazio Region presented at RTS 2022 the regional tourist destination with the immense cultural and artistic heritage of the Lazio region, the naturalistic and historical routes, the places to discover through unique flavors and the communities that live there, but not only. Central to the Lazio Region Tourism Department is root tourism, which represents an integrated strategy for the recovery of the sector – also included in the investment for the “Attractiveness of Villages” of the PNRR – and experiential tourism, market in constant growth that has transformed the way of approaching travel. To this end, two talks were organized on Saturday and Sunday: “Tourism of the Roots: the role of memory in promoting Lazio” and “Lazio Experience: destinations to discover, experiences to live”.
“In these two years of pandemic in Rome and Lazio about twenty thousand businesses have closed – commented Valter Giammaria – Tourism is fundamental for all productive activities in the area and must be enhanced, we must create new opportunities and new itineraries. We cannot live from seasonal tourism but from annual tourism. With Confesercenti and Assoturismo we aim to extend the period of interest to the capital, bringing congress tourism back to Rome and focusing on the exhibition sector. We have to believe more in the potential and beauty we have “.
