Mark Wright reveals he was snubbed by ITV for I’m a Celebrity All-Stars spin off show – Daily Mail

Mark Wright has revealed that he was snubbed by ITV bosses for the upcoming I’m A Celebrity All Star spin-off show – despite a previous successful stint on the show.

The TV favourite admitted that he ‘hadn’t been asked’ back by the channel, while talking about the new show on Heart FM.

It comes after he reportedly left the channel’s bosses ‘furious’ by pulling out of their upcoming sports reality show, The Games, at the last minute.

The new spin-off of I’m A Celebrity is due to run in addition to the annual series and is likely to be screened next year.

And talking about the show on his Heart radio show, Mark explained ‘There are rumours that there is going to be an I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here! Reunion, a best of.

‘So think Gino D’Acampo, Joe Swash, Emily Atack, yes we’re talking Peter Andre maybe even Katie Price, imagine that, the best of the last however many years it’s been on, are going to be going into the jungle together.’

Noting the seeming snub from producers, Mark continued: ‘It’s great that I’ve not been asked, cheers guys, that means I was not the best.’

Mark appeared on I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! in 2011, finishing runner up to McFly’s Dougie Poynter.

The former TOWIE star was a favourite among fans during his stint on the show, and had carved a career out of TV both in the UK and the US since then.

ITV representatives have been contacted for comment.

The snub could be following Mark’s dropout of ITV’s upcoming show The Games – which it was reported he bowed out of via text.

Reports claimed that the star said he was  ‘too busy to take part’ in a quick message to ‘gobsmacked’ producers.

But Mark hit back at the news via Instagram, explaining it was actually over a phone call and he ‘hadn’t even signed a contract’ for the show.

He also rubbished claims that he was ‘blacklisted’ from the channel – claiming he was even starring in an ITV show in the coming months.

But despite Mark’s claims, the recent snub has resurfaced rumours of a blacklisting from the channel.

Producers bagged Max George to replace Mark in the show, but were thought to have been left with the ‘mammoth task’ of editing out him out of background shots as well as a fitness assessment, which he had allegedly already filmed.

A source told The Sun: ‘Mark’s excuse was that he was basically going to be too busy to commit, which to some feels absolutely incredulous given he’d already committed to filming.

‘Those working on the show aren’t sure what is harder to swallow, the fact he dropped out so last minute or the fact he decided to send a text rather than call in the first instance.’

There will be 12 celebrities competing in total on The Games, six male and six female, and they will take part in events in an athletics arena, a swimming pool, and a gymnasium.
