Fashion, culture and environmental sustainability: the La Terza Piuma association presented the annual edition of Fashion Revolution Week, an international event scheduled from 18 to 24 April 2022, and the FA.RE. Bergamo. And this year the appointments will be hosted by the Mia Foundation in the Cascina Mulino, in the fantastic setting of Astino.
2022 began with the achievement of a great milestone for the Bergamo-based tailoring Dressing Piuma, a branch of the association founded by Alessandra Gabriele, Monica Cerri e Lorenzo Nava, which has officially become part of the OSO social tailoring network. A not accidental entry, given that La Terza Piuma, thanks to the “capacities bulindig” tender of the Municipality of Bergamo, is accompanying a group of women together with the Ruah cooperative, San Vincenzo patronage and other partners in a path of female entrepreneurship. And on Sunday 24 April, at Cascina Mulino, at 4 pm, it will be possible to get to know the social tailors present in Italy and see the items from the OSO and Dressing Piuma spring-summer collection.
The training area is also a central aspect of the event, as stated by Francesco Pedrini, director of the Carrara Academy of Fine Arts, who highlighted the involvement of a class in the “color the revolution” project, which together with educators and volunteers from the Botanical Garden allowed them to participate in a training course dedicated to dyeing plants and natural coloring. Another essential aspect for the promoting association is school-work alternation; in fact, many of the protagonists of this edition were the students of the Engim, Abf, Majorana, Caniana, Vittorio Emanuele schools, the Academy of Fine Arts and the University of Bergamo.
Another appointment of the Bergamo Fashion Revolution Week is the round table “Color Everybody!” appointment with international guests who will talk about experiences in the field both from the point of view of research (Politecnico di Milano, Textil Research Institute, Alcoi), and from that of artisanal production (LaCampana cooperative, Lalazoo company) and industrial production (AlbiniNext, l innovation hub of Albini Group).
