Edition number 53 of Cosmoprof worldwide Bologna opens under the sign of continuity. The complications linked to the international scenario have not slowed the participation of beauty companies: more than 2,700 will be present at BolognaFiere from 28 April to 2 May, from 70 countries around the world for a total occupancy of over 30 exhibition pavilions. The Bologna appointment represents the first of a series of world events to be held under the aegis of the brand Cosmoproffrom the United States to Asia, in addition to those dedicated to the beauty industry in Europe, thanks also to new collaborations with local trade fair organizers and the acquisition of the German group Health & Beauty. And new projects, as the president of BolognaFiere tells in this interview, Gianpiero Calzolari, are scheduled for the next few months with a particular focus on emerging markets.

What are the expectations for CosmoprofBologna?

We expect an edition in continuity with previous years, despite the complications related to the international scenario. A very positive figure is the growth of exhibitors present for the first time or returning to Bologna after a few years of absence, pleasantly impressed by the ability of the event to renew itself and adapt to new business tools. They are over 30% of the total of our exhibitors.

How do you judge the results of the Cosmoprof digital platform?

Definitely positive. We had to adapt to an unpredictable scenario, but I think I can say that we did it with the usual professionalism and passion. We have not distorted our format but we have updated it, responding to the need of our operators to find business methods despite the restrictions in force. Thanks to our digital events we have further increased our community, coming into contact with players who, until the outbreak of the pandemic, were not interested in the visibility of a fair, but who have learned to appreciate Cosmoprof as a capillary 360 ° experience.

In which markets will you enhance your future presence?

On the one hand, we will focus on the countries and areas in which we are already present with new initiatives and targeted projects, attentive to the needs of individual markets. On the other hand, we continue to monitor new scenarios and emerging markets that may be of interest to the cosmetics industry.

A moment of Cosmoprof

After Bologna, what does Cosmoprof’s international agenda envisage?

The first date will be with Cosmoprof North America: the 19th edition will be held from 12 to 14 July in a new exhibition center, the Las Vegas convention center. They will follow Cosmoprof Cbe Aseana new stage of the Cosmoprof international network of events born from the collaboration between the BolognaFiere Group, Informa Markets e China beauty expo, scheduled from 15 to 17 September 2022 in Bangkok. From 6 to 8 October is scheduled Cosmoprof Indiathe Cosmoprof network event dedicated to the cosmetics market in India in the new headquarters of Jio world convention center in Mumbai, and we will also inaugurate the first edition of Cosmopack India. From 23 to 25 November it will be the turn of Cosmoprof Asia e Cosmopack Asia 2022 which will take place a Singapore Expo. Without forgetting, from June 27 to July 5, the Cosmoprof Asia digital weeka match-making platform for buyers and sellers.

Are you planning new partnerships with other fairs to strengthen the global leadership of the Cosmoprof system?

We have learned in recent months that unity is strength, and that in order to face the challenges of a constantly evolving market it is important to share experiences and skills with other players. We firmly believe in the value of synergies, and certainly in the coming months there will be new collaborations, with the aim of strengthening Cosmoprof’s role as a business partner for international stakeholders.
