The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up To Cancer is back for more with some of our fave celebs showing off their baking skills – but only one can be crowned Star Baker.
Competing in the tent this week alongside Katherine Kelly are Mo Farah, Motsi Mabuse and Ben Miller.
They’ll follow in the footsteps of Example, Annie McManus, Ed Gamble and Matt Lucas, who all caused absolute chaos in last week’s special.
The four aspiring celeb bakers will be hoping to impress judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith all whilst raising money for Stand Up To Cancer.
Here’s everything you need to know about actress Katherine, who takes to the tent tonight.
Who is Katherine Kelly?
Katherine is an actress and and presenter, who made her TV debut in 2003, appearing on Last of the Summer Wine.
She’s most famous for her stint in Coronation Street, appearing on the soap between 2006 and 2012, but she’s also a firm fixture across UK drama.
The star, 42, was born in Barnsley, South Yorkshire. She grew up in both South Yorkshire and the USA.
In 2014, she gave birth to their first child, a daughter named Orla Kelly Clark. On 21 October 2016, she gave birth to a second daughter, Rose Christie Clark.
Kelly married Ryan Clark in 2013 in Las Vegas, but the pair later split up in 2020.
Who did she play on Coronation Street?
Kelly rose to prominence after portraying Becky McDonald on the cobbles, who was married to unlucky-in-love Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson).
Becky’s storylines also focused on her friendship with Roy (David Neilson) and Hayley Cropper (Julie Hesmondhalgh).
In 2011, she decided to quit the role, calling it ‘one of the hardest decisions of her life’ but felt it was the right time to ‘say goodbye to Becky.’
For this role, Kelly won multiple awards including a National Television Award for “Best Serial Drama Performance” in 2012.
What else has she been in?
Since leaving Coronation Street, she’s continued to assert herself as one of the queens of British drama.
Katherine played Lady Mae in the ITV drama series Mr Selfridge, Leah Dale in ITV drama Cheat and a lead role in the second series of Innocent as Sally Wright.
The actress will soon feature in season two of Gentleman Jack, which began on BBC One last weekend.
The Great Celebrity Bake Off for SU2C continues tonight at 8pm on Channel 4.
