VisitBritain is preparing to host ExploreGB Virtual, the flagship event of global Travel Trade, which will take place online from 21-25 March. ExploreGB Virtual brings together over 330 global buyers who will meet with 370 tourism industry and destination suppliers from across the UK. The five-day program of virtual events gives destinations and suppliers the opportunity to promote their excellent travel products and services to top global buyers and create valuable business opportunities.

Travel industry buyers and reporters from more than 20 countries will attend the event, including some from the most valuable markets for the UK – Australia, China, Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC), Italy, France, Germany, Spain and the USA. More than 10,000 pre-scheduled 1-2-1 virtual business meetings will take place during the event.

Tourism Minister Nigel Huddleston said: “ExploreGB is a brilliant opportunity for global buyers to learn about the best of Britain’s tourism offering through our travel suppliers. This year is going to be fantastic, with Her Majesty the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, the Birmingham Commonwealth Games and Unboxed 2022, so we’re sure all visitors will find something to their liking, and that Britain is ready to welcome from Worldwide”.

VisitBritain CEO Sally Balcombe added: “We are delighted to host our premier travel trade event, connecting global buyers with UK suppliers to do business, with the latest travel products, experiences and innovations, as well as to strengthen the bonds of knowledge, cooperation and acceptance. With the UK fully reopened and a year of exceptional events, the Pease is set to be a flagship destination for global tourism, and ExploreGB provides a valuable opportunity to work together with our travel industry partners to rebuild visitor spending. , expand travel itineraries and encourage travelers to stay longer and explore more ”.

ExploreGB Virtual is set up on all time zones with a program for international buyers of short and long haul destinations. Delegates can manage their agendas during the event with the virtual platform open every day from 06.00 to 23.00 GMT. The online event kicks off with VisitBritain’s International Business Exchange, which allows UK suppliers to meet VisitBritain’s experts in the country for the latest information on the market, followed by three days of virtual 1-2-1 appointments for suppliers and international buyers. Delegates are encouraged to explore the exhibition stands of UK suppliers promoting their latest travel products and services, and to download resources relevant to their business.

ExploreGB follows the recent launch of VisitBritain’s global campaign to revive international tourism. The £ 10 million ‘Welcome to Another Side of Britain’ marketing campaign GREAT Britain, launched in February, has the main focus on cities in Great Britain, hit hard by the lack of international visitors.
