I’m A Celebrity to launch spin-off in South Africa with celebs from UK series

Fans of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! look to be in for a treat as rumours are circulating of a South African ‘all-star’ edition of the hit ITV show. Rumours of the spin-off first came to surface on Thursday, April 21 with celebrities from across the years set to appear. Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly are, of course, set to return.

Past winners and some of the show’s most unforgettable contestants are rumoured to take part in the series, which is said to be filmed in a new location – South Africa. And a new location isn’t the only difference this time round, as camp mates will internally vote people for challenges, in the same ilk as Big Brother. Unlike its predecessor, the new show will not feature a public vote.

Fans have no doubt started to speculate who will appear on the show. With huge characters like Christopher Biggins, Lady C and Gemma Collins having featured in the ITV show’s back catalogue, the spin-off will not be one to miss.

According to a source, who spoke to MailOnline: “The new edition is likely to air in 2023 but before that, viewers will get to enjoy the show’s much anticipated return to Australia in November.” I’m A Celebrity, itself, was recently announced to air three weeks earlier than usual because of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. It is expected to return to Australia, following two years at Gwrych Castle in North Wales.

In comparison to the original version of the show, the spin-off is said to only last two weeks instead of three. It will also be pre-recorded as opposed to live. This is a pre-cursory condition in case of Covid.

But who are the Celebrities that could jet off to South Africa?

Danny Miller

The winner of the latest series and Emmerdale star might want to swap the cold Welsh nights for some Australian sunshine. During his time on the show, Danny formed a ‘bromance’ with David Ginola.

Danniella Westbrook

Westbrook famously ‘begged’ viewers to vote her out of the series but now that Kim Medcalf has taken on the role of Sam Mitchell in EastEnders again, could the star be wooed back to the show?

Katie Price and Peter Andre

The former couple found love after appearing in the series together in series three, but maybe they’ll both be tempted to return.

Gemma Collins

The TOWIE star didn’t last long in the jungle first time round but having since appeared in the likes of Celebrity Big Brother and Dancing On Ice, Gemma could redeem herself.
